My sweet sweet boy

Jace is still my baby- but growing up way to fast. Does that make sense???

Anyways he's 18 months. He went to nursery and walked right in. Such a difference from his sister. Although I went to peek in and he saw me... that was a mistake. Don't mess with a good thing right?

Stats:

22.5 lbs (10% for boys)

50% for height

and head 15%

Our kids are small but he is our big kid!!! Everyone is surprise with how small he is because he looks big. One day he will be bigger. He has massive hands, massive feet, and MASSIVE shoulders. I'll never forget how wide his shoulders are- shoulder dystocia. I remember looking at him and thinking man that boy is big! 8 lbs 15 oz.

We love him so much!!!!

A few things about Jace:

He's busy. Either climbing, teasing, or playing.

I found the ultimate punishment- pack n play! Now he actually will listen and not climb on something

He loves him "num nums" aka his blanky- just like his sister

He loves food- unless he's teething

His tantrums have become less- probably because of the pack n play. Didn't take long

He loves his sister and they're best friends- most the time

When he wakes up from a nightmare (happens more than we like) he will calm down the fastest when I hold him and sing to him 

He's got a teasing personality and it's pretty funny. He's always willing to play and have fun

He loves brushing his teeth (or eating the tooth paste)

He loves peeled apple slices

He loves his soother

He's brave going down slides and climbing stuff. almost too brave

Loves trucks and cars. Could watch them all day.  Also he'll dress up with Talia which I love because he's so much a boy it's good to learn a sensitive side

Gets mistaken for Talia's twin ALL the time. They are the same weight, same shoe size, he's just a few inches shorter.

He's my Blondie

We love him and can't imagine life without him. It's so weird how you can't imagine them not your baby! He's still my baby. Just weird because by this age in Talia's life she had a 1 month old brother.

Echo week

So after our Ashley week was over on Saturday we drove 50 minutes to Echo. Not a bad drive! We didn't spend the week with all of Jason's family, it was 2 other brothers and their wives, and Jason's parents.

It was a fun week. We had great weather again, they boated a lot, took the kids on see-dos, and the Prince's happened to be 2 cabins down so we went air chairing and wake surfing with them. Wake surfing was SO much fun. It's easy to get out of the water but the trick is learning to lean forward and balance so you can stay in front of the wake. I could only let go of the rope and stay in front of the wake for a true 5 seconds. Air chairing lets just say I'm the master... ok not the master but I will say I think the smaller you are the easier it is to control. It was funny me teaching all the big boys and showing them how to do it. Such a fun week on the water. Wish we could have boated more but kids seems to be our first responsibility out there. It'll be so fun when they're all old enough to last more than 10 minutes on the boat. Mostly Jace, Talia was great on the boat.

Here is what I got:

I really liked the temperature of Ashley Lake and didn't know if Echo would be any warmer but I was wrong it was warmer. Felt so good to be in and swimming. Kids were doing a bit better in the water.We found our kids, especially Jace a little young to be enjoying the water but hopefully next year will be better for them. They loved the seedos.

Super man made an appearance. Superman sometimes not so super like when he climbs up on top of the bunk bed all alone and then decides to come down the side that doesn't have a latter.

 Finally after many years of being pregnant and last year being very out of shape I was able to get out of the water on one ski. After I got the feeling back it felt more natural again. Can't wait for next year to be able to do it more!

As for which lake I would choose between Ashley and Echo? Well that would be a tough call. There are pros and cons to both, well mostly pros just different pros. Ashley Lake is gorgeous clear blue water. No weeds. It is "cooler" (I liked it), and glass even in the middle of day because there's not many boats AT ALL. You feel a little secluded. As for Echo, it's warmer, more weeds but you don't really hit them (I did one year) and you can trim them up at your property more. There's a sense of community there. Lots of people and a lot of people know each other. It is busier so you wouldn't get glass much, only mornings and sometimes evening. 

So depending on your mood you might choose one or the other. Both are awesome lakes and we're so lucky to have been able to go to both this summer! Both great weeks filled with family and games.

Now on to our next vacation at the end of August- one of the best friends Amy Wilde's wedding in... HAWAII!!!!

Pizzey Vacation at Ashley Lake

Two weeks in Montana. We spend one week with my family at Ashley lake and then headed 50 minutes through Kalispell and out the other side to Echo to spend a week with whoever could come to Echo at that week. Both weeks were great. We had a lot of fun... we were tired after the two weeks. Vacationing with kids is fun but tiring.

So every two years my family does vacation. Well it had been put off for 3 years because Blake was getting back the following year so we waited for him. Anyways, so this year we rented a cabin at Ashley Lake in Montana. I had never heard of Ashley Lake because basically most members go to Echo when they go to Montana. Wasn't sure before we went but when we got there I was blown away!!! The cabin was AWESOME with a room for everyone. I swear that when you have your own space to sleep, to keep organized with your stuff, and to let your kids nap, vacations are WAY less stressful. I'll talk more about the cabin as we go through the pictures.

So the cabin was unbelievable, the lake was gorgeous. It is a bigger lake than Echo, but it was quieter. From what I hear is it's a private lake. So beach or public access. There's definitely pros and cons to both lakes and I'm not sure what lake I would choose if we were choosing. The lake was super clear, no weeds, just rocks and mud/ sand, and was quiet.

This first few photos are of the cabin. I wish I would have got photos of the basement. The main floor has the kitchen, massive table, common area, laundry, full bathroom, master bedroom (which was locked- they have 7 rooms by 6 are available for use), and massive 1/2 wrap around porch). The upstairs has a little reading area and piano, 2 bedrooms, full bathroom and a secret play room. The basement has a movie room with projector, fridge, sink, storage room, full bathroom, and 4 big bedrooms. Most bedrooms had a bunk bed, pack n play, and queen bed with lots of room to spare. Could easily put another bunk bed in the rooms.

Such a great idea to have a little playground set. The kids loved it. Jace was even able to get up on the slide on his own.

Secret Play Room:

These two play really well. I think one minor tiff the whole week that they were able to sort out. They loved playing dress up, outside on the play set, and just being with each other.

60 foot slide they had. Talia actually like going down with Jason. Shocking because she's not a huge fan of swimming just yet. We also made Jace go down. Not sure if he loved it.

 

 We had awesome weather. Most days were spent on the dock swimming and just relaxing. We did rent a boat for a couple days. It was good. Not a great boat for skiiers because it didn't have much pop but it was fun for the two days.

 Initially Me, Blake, and Paige wrestling. As you can see Paige left. I probably wasn't going to be the one left on the tramp but there's no way I was going off without Blake. We both ended up off the tramp at the same time. :)

 Food worked out great. We all took a day of meals- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every ones meals were great and everyone pitched in with clean up. Also with snacks and stuff my parents were great and brought a bunch but we all brought random stuff as well. Easy. Again I think with having a good space and everyone being easy going with how people get things done or do stuff, the week went really good!

 Jordan's always doing something and he entertained the girls with setting a trap. They caught this little guy. He was sure panicked but he was let free after we got a couple pictures.

 Anyone who really knows Jace knows he's a tease, happy, loves to dance, and when he really doesn't want something or is set on something he can throw some major tantrums. This is how we solved one. went in the water together. Seemed to work. Ha!

This picture makes me laugh. Talia would always come down in the new outfit. This time she said she was a doctor... Doesn't look like a doctor to me, maybe a pioneer.

It was a great vacation
