Well again I'm falling behind and feel like missing the opportunity to write blog posts of my own thoughts and experiences because I'm just not keeping up on the day to day stuff that happens around here. Hoping I can keep up better... doubtful with a baby coming in a month but I'm going to try.

 

Also other than feeling large and that playing a bit on my self esteem, I'm feeling pretty good. I'm coming out of my "pregnancy depression" and seeing things a little clearer. I'm enjoying my kids more, enjoy being me more, and enjoying life. So grateful for a husband who just listens and puts up with all this hormonal stuff... and maybe the odd time gets snapped on, but only the odd time ;)

I'm sure in a month I'll go through feelings of being overwhelmed all over again but really pregnancy is the worst, so almost done... for now ;)

 



These two are keeping me busy. Patience wise. But I sure do love when they get a long.

Heavenly morning when these trucks came and removed out snow pile. The kids LOVED watching especially Jace.

 

Penny thinks every time Colby gets a bottle she gets a bottle. In fact just yesterday we found Penny at my parents drinking Colby's bottle. She drank quiet a bit. Funny girl!

We had an amazing winter. Yes we got a couple days of snow fall in March but it melted so fast! seriously I think 1 maybe 2 weeks of -30 ish weather. Pretty awesome. Tonight we are off for a bike ride for Family Home Evening.

I was explaining to Talia about St. Patrick's Day and what it was all about. I remember in grade one my teacher really putting in such a great effort with the leprechaun coming and tipping some messing desks and leaving gold chocolate. It was just so much fun. I want my kids to remember that stuff. You're only a kid once and it's just so fun and magical. Anyways so I had hyped it up and told them about Leprechauns and how they're hard to catch and see and they're sneaky. They seemed to think it was pretty fun.

So the evening before I had to go out somewhere and apparently Jace and Talia wouldn't go to sleep because they were worried the Leprechauns would come in the their room. Leave it to my kids to stress about such things. So guess what Jason does???? He tells them they're not real! I was ticked off! Who makes such a decision without your spouse? Also Talia's in kindergarten, and Jace is just first year preschool! I was shocked and frustrated. So I may have vocalized what I thought about that and said now you're the parent that gets to wreck all the kids traditions. Anyways Jason made it better and now my kids believe it. Obviously at a young impressionable age. Yes it's a silly little tradition but guess what is 3-4 years they'll believe nothing and how fun to make another day special. And I don't go all out.

We had two shined up loonies waiting for them on their bathroom counter, some a few chocolate gold coins on the kitchen table. Then of course they dressed in green to avoid and pinches, and had a green breakfast, which penny wouldn't touch anyways.

 

I know people find things like this silly, and so do I, but I do pick and choose what we celebrate. I don't do elf on a shelve because I know I'd forget and it's multiple days... but awesome for those that do. I just think being a kid is fun and really it's doesn't last long... so if my kids believe in a leprechaun then awesome! 

 

Jace is not actually mad here... just being Jace.

The kids both had school this morning so Penny and I went to Walmart. She kills me. I love spending 1 on 1 time with her... she's a bit spoiled and may be in for a shock when this baby comes.

 

How can you not love that smiling face haha. 

I just love this girl. Everything about her. She insisted on wearing her "hat" aka headband for days.

She has an underbite, eventually we'll need to correct it with hopefully just braces around 6 or 7 BUT how cute is it right now??? Too cute!

 

Talia walked off the bus with some diva sunglasses the other day. Love them and thought they looked pretty great on her.

Well we have transitioned Penny over to a big girl bed... will get a picture soon. And made this more of a boy/ neutral room. I'm pretty much ready. Well have been for a bit, I just need to pack my bag. I'm only 35 weeks and I'm not really worried I'm going to go early I'm just like that. My list of stuff to do usually consists of things that need to be done a month of two in advance, call me crazy but that's how I work.

My little sister, youngest sibling Paige got married March 20, 2015. She married the wonderful Richard Clark. They are very well suited and couldn't be happier for them.

 

We took Talia to get her hair done. It's never looked so full. How fun to be a little girl and getting all ready for a "party".

 

My kids loved the wedding. Jace shocked me and just did so well, danced up a storm. Well actually all three did, their love of dancing comes from me.

Alright probably the last photo from March... this happened yesterday. So I'm really trying to buckle down on the unnecessary bickering. Yes it will continue to happen but they can have times outs as well :)

 

Anyways Jace and Talia of course were bickering over a dumb play kitchen broom, so I just took it and told them to sit. This was at my moms, Talia was not impressed but man Colby and Penny sure loved joining in on the time out. I wasn't sure Colby would sit while I ran and got my phone but he loved it the most. He was not impressed when this time out broke up.

 

Also I love Talia's Easter dress. So both Jace and Penny were sick and I didn't get a chance to match them for Easter so looks like sometime in April I'll have to get them all matching and take some pictures. Also I think I'll have them wear it for sibling photos when this next one comes.

 

Well on to April. The month I've been waiting for, for months!

 

 

Jace's Birthday Party

I'm a little late on this... a month almost to the day but better late than never right?

 

So we had Jace's birthday party at Chuck-e-cheese. Can I say this was the best idea EVER, especially for the age. For a couple reasons

 

1- Four years old is a little young to have best friends or totally play party games with kids and not get bored or distracted.

2- I was 7-8 months pregnant (31-32 weeks)- how many months is that really? Yes divided by 4 it's 8 months but really it's like 7 months.

AND

3- no clean up!

 

The kids had SO MUCH fun. We got a party package which really wasn't a bad price at all, and probably could have done a lesser package because we didn't end up using near the tokens they got and extras. So there was tokens for every kid, and since it was mostly cousins and my best friends kids the parents were there to take their kids around on games. It was fun! And then cake, presents, meeting Chuck-e,  and more playing. It was just great!

 

Since Jace's birthday is in the winter perhaps we may do a party like this often, where you actually leave the house.

 

Cake look familiar? Well this is a replica of the cake her  had last year... pretty easy circle cake with tractors. I hope he loves tractors forever.

 

The kids always look forward to McDonald's breakfast on their birthday. He definitely didn't eat all that, but on their birthday they don't get just half an egg mcmuffin they get the WHOLE thing... but only eat a big :)

 

Oh and yes this is the shirt he wore last year to his birthday. HA! Poor kid growing out of his shirt.

This girl was fun to watch. She just went independently around on her own playing all the games. She was actually pretty good at basketball one. I could watch her for days playing this game. She's so teachable and seriously so competitive and fast. She'll be fun to watch when she gets into basketball more. Can't wait! A feisty guard, she's got my heart. 

 

This girl loves her papa! And she's feisty, man I'm going to love watching these girls play.

My sister... twin sister Taren. She's such an awesome aunty. Loves all the kids. My kids are lucky to have such awesome auntys on both sides of the family. Makes me want to be a better aunty.

So Jace got to go in this tube that blew around free token slips with 2 friends. Talia did not want to go so she went with Avery and Marli. It was killing Dave because they wouldn't scoop up any slips they missed all of them. Dave would have definitely take advantage... missed opportunity!

 

These two are trouble... is a cute way!

PIcture update Winter

So It's march and I haven't put any pictures up on my blog. Don't get me wrong it's not like I'm super Mom and take my kids would a lot when I'm pregnant. In fact I think most my family would think I'm some evil witch/ step mother from a Disney movie... but I'm almost done pregnancy as well. And hopefully I can take my kids outside more (also being spring/ summer will help), and be a tad bit happier.

 

We've had an amazing winter. Yep a few cold days here and there but really it has been nice and maybe has helped with winter going by pretty fast. Or maybe it's that I have a kid and school and things just go by faster when there's a schedule.

 

Penny loves Talia. Everything about her. It's cute to watch her copy her and call after her. She loves Jace but they're more frenemies.

Went with my family swimming to the new rec center. The pool and great and we really like the play place as well. It's fun! I wasn't in the mood to swim (feeling a big sorry for myself and self conscious... which was silly but reality for me that day and pregnancy), and Jason was working, so my family stepped up big time and just swam with my three kids. I love my family.

Next goal for her jumping off without a life jacket. She can swim without one pretty good she's just cautious but she loved the diving board.

 

This boy impressed me as well. It took some convincing and telling him he could have a dollar (which he never claimed and forgot about- don't worry I would have gave it to him but he just forgot)

He loved the diving board and is a pretty brave little guy. Sometimes when he gets used to something he gets a bit to brave!

 

She was a friend half the time. Was tired of swimming for the last bit so she just hung out with me.

 

Does anyone else sometimes for crazy from 330- 5? Well this must be that time and it was a super nice day. Love that they have each other... when they're not frenemeies. They don't ever fight outside so it's a nice play to send them.

Got to watch baby Grant one day and these two ended up matching. He's Jason's brother's first baby.

One of the biggest things that cause me mental anguish is being pregnant. I have good and bad days, but thought I would document a photo or two of this pregnancy. I am 29 weeks here (now 31). I'm a lot bigger now. This boy is measuring my largest actually. I'm actually surprised how much my belly has grown in two weeks... I'm in trouble!

 

This girl is funny! Very feisty and may have a hard time not being the baby. She's funny though and cracks me up. This day she kept calling my name and was pretty proud of this.

This is the first time our kids have gone ice skating ever! That's a big parent fail ha. Talia picked it up pretty good and I think if we went just a time or two more Jace would feel more secure. It was fun to watch them and push Penny around. My mom came and helped thankfully because don't think we could have done it just Jason and I.

At a fun play date with my friend Natasha and her kids. Her kids are seriously the nicest kids ever!!! I've never had play dates with kids where they all just got a long and not one single little tiff. These kids haven't seen each other tons but by the end it's as if they were best friends giving hug good bye. I wish we lived closer. 

It was our 8th anniversary on the 17th of February. Crazy we're getting close to our 10th. My goal for my 10th anniversary is to not be pregnant, physically healthy AND to be on a trip somewhere with just Jason :) Love this guy, every year we get closer and understand each other more. Marriage is work and takes works to continually improve communication and the relationship. It's been worth every minute and I can really say he's my best friend. I look forward to when he's home and to times with just us.

Well we got a case of gastro that went through our house. Talia never got anything. Lucky girl. Penny was hit the worst. 6 days. I love holding my sick babies. Don't love puke but I love holding them.
