I spy with my little eye...

I spy with my little eye
someONE who looks like...

Well can you figure it out?

Jason was gone for 4 days this past week and Talia kept looking at this book. She actually wouldn't even let me turn the page. Then one day she kept pointing at this someone saying, "Da Da". Now can you figure it out? Who does Uncle look like? HA!!!

This is no longer Uncle it's Da Da.
I can totally see where she is coming from. Yes I think my husband is better and younger looking than this guy. Maybe this is how he will look in 5- 10 years? I was killing myself laughing because she starting kissing this picture. So great!!!

Uncle = Da Da = Jason

Talia 17 months, Jace 1 week old

Love my kids! Can't believe how old Talia looks. She was just my baby girl and now she looks like a toddler. And Jace I feel like he's grown up so much (even though he's just 3 weeks old today). They change so fast. I love ever stage and am enjoying them growing up but I also find myself missing the newborn stage. Hopefully that's just hormones speaking because there NEEDS to be a bigger gap between #2 and #3.

I was looking at my sister in laws blog and she had a picture of my nephew Zach holding Jace at one day old and he totally reminded me of Talia on her first day. Both so soft and little, similar coloring. Don't get me wrong they are very different. Most say Talia is Jason's twin, and Jace takes after me. But I do think Jason and I have similar coloring so who knows?

Look like siblings right? Different noses for sure, and Talia is more bruised. Anyways I guess they change so much in the first year it will be fun to see. Just love my newborns!

My two babies

I've always wondered if my kids would look a lot a like (like Jason and his brothers) or  look somewhat related but different (like me and my siblings- specifically my twin Taren). Talia is 3 weeks old in her photos and Jace is 10 days old. So far I think they look very different. I think you'll be able to tell they're siblings but their features are very different.

*Just a side note: I realize this may be boring for someone who is not their mother or not related so feel free to skip this or you can add your opinion. I just love looking at them so this is what I think about a lot lately! I also love babies and these babies are all mine... and Jason's!

Differences:
-Talia has a total Pizzey nose, Jace has Jason's nose. Jaces nose is a little turned up (like Talia's) but all babies are turned up slightly at first. For sure Jace does not have my nose. Their noses are VERY different- both cute
-Talia has deeper set eyes (Exactly Jason's eyes and brow), Jaces eyes are not as deep set (like mine)
- Jace has more hair (lucky!)
-Talia's skin tone is olive (lucky girl), and Jaces is red
-(I think) Jace looks like a boy, and Talia looks like a dainty girl (which she is)
- Talia has my dimple in the middle her chin and Jace so far doesn't
- They have very different ears. Talias are a bit bigger and stick out at the top (like mine did as a baby) Jaces' are smaller and at the top of them they dip in a bit.

Similarities:
- Similar coloring of hair except Jace is more red
- Same top lip
- is from Jason and I and look like us so we know they're siblings

They look like brother/sister twins
Cute!

I do think they look like siblings here.

-Talia's feet looked so long, but I think it's because they're so thin
-Jace's feet are more wide.

My babies! I just love them and feel very blessed to have them!

Have you ever seen...?

Yes that is Jace's poop! Talia and I were sitting in that chair about a minute before but thankfully I gave Talia to Jason and decided to take over this diaper change. So I was just in the middle of wiping Jace (so his legs were up) and out shot this MASSIVE stream of poop. Literally hit the chair and over the chair onto the wall. This is about 4 feet from where we are in his room.

I couldn't stop laughing. Well I screamed first then I laughed. Thankfully it all came out. I'm sure I wouldn't have been laughing if Talia and I were sitting there. Actually I would have still been laughing.

Welcome baby Jace!

Well Jace finally arrived February 28, 2011 at 6:04 pm weighing 8 lbs 15 Oz's, length 21.25 inches long.
I was 41 weeks + 1 day and after Jace he will be my last baby that will go to 41 weeks!

I guess the nice thing about being induced (there aren't many nice things) is that you go in at a normal hour and usually have the baby at a normal hour. You also get to shower and put on make up! So we went in at 8 am and was started on the drip at 10 am. I was GBS positive so I also got my IV and started the round of antibiotics. I started contracting- mostly cramping by 10 30 so everything was moving a long nicely.

At 2 pm I wanted my nurse to check me to see how far dilated I was. She refused. I tried to explain if I was 6-7 cm I wanted an epidural (so I didn't miss my opportunity to get one) and if I was 3-4 still I would like to go walk. She said she would only check if I was actually going to get an epidural. I was pretty frustrated and the good old student nurse reassured me that they didn't want to make me feel out of control of this whole experience but they felt strongly about not checking blah blah blah. So anyways she was right I WAS still in control and when she left Jason checked me. Yes you read that right I got my husband to check me. Why not use the skills he has right? Anyways I was 5 cm so we decided to go for a walk. We walked to the play room and was about to sit down and hang out there for a bit... but my water broke!

When I got back to the room, the nurse on a power trip finally checked me (ha!) and surprise I was 5 cm! The contractions came on SO fierce. Every 2 minutes, actually closer. And I thought I was going to die. My first thought- get an epidural FAST, second thought- how did woman have children without epidurals? Child labor must have been easier back then. Yes I was not thinking right because of the pain but that is what I thought.  As I got my epidural that awesome student nurse kept cheering in the back ground "go Kamry!" "Keep going Kamry!" "You're doing it Kamry!" I felt like I was at a gymnastics competition. Finally I said, "OK enough." Yes it was rude but during those contractions I couldn't hear that, I barely wanted anyone touching me. Oh ya another thing, she tried to be the one standing in front of me while I got my epidural, so finally I asked her to step aside and I pulled Jason in front of me.

So once my pain was under control the student nurse came back and stood by my bedside and said, " I can sympathize with you because I'm having... hmmm what's the word I forget... OH I'm having menstrual cramps." I didn't even know what to say. I wish I thought of something witty to say back but all I could say was, "Really? That sucks for you." She'll realize one day how ridiculous that comment was. I know I am bagging on the student nurse a lot but I was a student nurse so I feel I am entitled to my opinion on how you should act in 4th year. Anyways thankfully that nurse and student nurse were off at 3 and the best nurse EVER came on.

Well the next hour I dilated from 5-10 cms. The doctor came (not my doctor but the one on call. Who happened to be on call last time and delivered Talia as well. Also she was Jason's preceptor so we know her well). She actually ended up hanging out and stayed the whole time. Not many doctors do that! Jason and the doctor talked "doctor talk" most of the time, while Shyann (my nurse) and I talked "nurse talk"/ made fun of Jason and the doctor/ talked about our 17 months old daughters. I just loved my nurse. She did everything and made light of any embarrassing moments.

So Jace's head came out pretty easy, but then came his shoulders. All I can say is I am thankful I had an epidural because all of a sudden everyone is saying get him out and push harder (not talking to me). I realize Jason is pushing super hard on one side of my stomach, and another nurse came in got on the bed and started pushing on the other side. So after an episiotomy and two people pushing him out. He popped out, well pulled/ popped out. He had some pretty good shoulder dystocia. My doctor said I probably wont be going to 41 weeks anymore. My bone structure sure can't handle big babies. Which I am ok with!

I loved my doctor and my nurse. Over all I must say I enjoy delivery much more than being pregnant which was the same as Talia's pregnancy.

Here are some photos:

Doctor that delivered!

The adjustment has gone smooth so far. Jace is a pretty good baby, just like Talia was. Both picked up nursing like pros so that makes the adjustment MUCH easier. The only thing different is he wakes to eat and when he wants to eat he lets you know.  We've been blessed with two healthy children. We love them so much and love our little family. I'm grateful for my little princess and little man. I didn't think I would enjoy having a boy this much but I love him to pieces. Talia kisses him all the time and when he cries she gets very concerned. She has got a little needier in the sense she wants to sit with me and have me hold her but she's been pretty good. Now there will be a bigger break before the 3rd comes along. So for now we will enjoy our little family.

Busy February

So I thought I might have had a baby by now... I know shouldn't have thought it but I did, anyways I have time to blog and catch up before this little man arrives.

Well February is a busy month, Jason's in is ICU rotation, Valentines Day, Our Anniversary (on the 17th), and hopefully this baby (due date the 20th).

Every year it seems we try to take a trip or do something and January/ February is a perfect month to go somewhere warm so that's what we always end up doing for Valentines Day/ our Anniversary. So we didn't do much for Valentines Day (since we just went to Mexico), but we did manage to put Talia down to bed early and have a steak dinner. I must admit I have the best steak griller in the world at home. Jason makes them better than any steak I've had at a restaurant and if you get the steak sauce from the Moose factory then it's perfect. You kind of forget how nice it is to eat a meal in peace without worrying about feeding a kid. It was great. He also bought me flowers and people magazine. Not a huge flower person but I love daisy's so he did good. How can you go wrong with pretty flowers and a people magazine!

I wish I had done more for him but I spent my day with a pukey child. I hope I can make it up to him on our anniversary by having a baby or doing something else special.

Another update, before we left for Mexico we moved the den downstairs (14 hour job!!!!), and put together the kids rooms. We took the chair and change table from Talia's room, got a crib off of kijiji for the new baby, and filled Talia's room with some stuff. The only thing I feel bad about is I don't have a glider in Talia's room anymore. She's still a baby and when she's sick sometimes I'll rock her but I guess that doesn't happen often. Anyways here is the updated house.

The den is now in an unfinished part of the basement. Not ideal but I think we really organized it well and made it feel like it was finished

Work out/ food storage part of the basement

Little play area in case we're down there with kids

Storage part of the basement
I think we did well for what space we have
We also have a finished bedroom and bathroom down, there just not in this room

Our (hopefully soon) newest addition's room
We'll put his name in between the monkey's

We didn't do much to the walls because we know we're moving soon enough so when we actually settle down where we're supposed to be we'll do something more fun with their rooms
Until then I think the rooms are cute enough

Talia showing off her CUTE smile and her teeth
We LOVE her teeth, so cute with a gap

New little play area in her room

What we added to her room
One day she'll get a real dresser, once we make her a "big" girl room

Yes we have two cribs
Never thought I would but Talia is just 18 ish pounds and still a baby girl, she needs her crib
Also I think I'll need her to continue to be a good sleeper when this baby comes, so for now we have two cribs

Well that is that! Next up 4 year anniversary tomorrow. Not sure if I'll get to post much about it, but we're just going to have another nice dinner at home when Talia is asleep. Yes that may be boring but I'm basically 40 weeks pregnant and it's nice to be at home at that time. I love my husband. Since being married to him I learned a lot about myself and have grown as a person in all areas of my life. He has many great qualities and I could list them for all to see but just know that I appreciate them and I will tell him. I'm grateful for him and he's my best friend!

NOW I truly hope my next post is about the arrival of this baby!!!!
